Use AI Agent in the Chrome Extension

Learn how to use AI Agent from the Pod Chrome Extension while working in Salesforce or HubSpot.

Written by Patrick Monnot

AI Agent in the Chrome Extension lets you ask Pod for help without leaving Salesforce or HubSpot. When you are viewing a supported CRM record, Pod can use that record as context so you can ask questions, add Skills, review past runs, and take action from the side panel.

Use this article when you want to use AI Agent from the Chrome Extension. For the broader AI Agent input and prompt-writing guide, see Launch and use AI agents.

Where to find AI Agent

You can access AI Agent in the Chrome Extension from two main places:

  • The AI Agent tab in Account 360Β° for a supported CRM record

  • The Agent Feed area in the extension, when you want to review or continue AI Agent work from feed results

The extension is designed to keep AI Agent close to the CRM record you are already viewing.

Open AI Agent from a CRM record

To use AI Agent on a Salesforce or HubSpot record:

  1. Open the record in your CRM.

  2. Open the Pod Chrome Extension side panel.

  3. Let Pod identify the current record.

  4. Open Account 360˚.

  5. Select the AI Agent tab.

AI Agent opens with the current record as context. This is the best place to ask questions about the account, opportunity, contact, lead, or other supported record you are viewing.

Open AI Agent from Agent Feed

You can also use AI Agent from Agent Feed in the Chrome Extension.

Use this when:

  • You want to review a result from an automated run.

  • You want to continue from a previous AI Agent result.

  • You want to open the related record and ask a follow-up.

For the full feed workflow, see Use the Agent Feed.

Write a prompt in the extension

The Chrome Extension uses the same AI Agent input experience as the web app. You can type a prompt in plain language and ask Pod to analyze the current record.

Good prompts usually include:

  • What you are trying to do

  • Which record or relationship matters

  • What signals AI Agent should review

  • What output format you want

Example:

Review this opportunity before my next customer call. Summarize the top risks, open questions, and next steps I should cover. Keep it concise and prioritize anything that changed recently.

Add Skills from the input

Skills are reusable instructions that guide how AI Agent should work. In the Chrome Extension, you can add a Skill to your prompt when you want a saved workflow or response format.

You can open the picker by:

  • Typing / in the AI Agent input

  • Clicking the + button

  • Clicking Explore Agents

The picker may show groups like Recently Used, Pod Agents, Personal Agents, and Org Agents. Select a Skill to add it to your prompt.

If you need to create, edit, or import Skills, Pod opens the web app.

Tag records and add context

AI Agent can use the record you are viewing, but you can also tag records in your prompt when you want to be more specific. Type @ in the prompt to mention a record and add it as context.

Use record tags when you want to:

  • Compare the current opportunity with another opportunity

  • Ask about an account while viewing a related deal

  • Include a contact or lead in the prompt

  • Make sure AI Agent uses a specific record

This is useful when the question spans more than the current CRM page.

Use files and web browsing

When available, you can attach files to give AI Agent more context for the prompt. Use this when the answer depends on a document, screenshot, deck, or other file.

You can also turn on web browsing when the next prompt needs live external context, such as company news, market context, or public information from a prospect's website.

Deal-specific facts should still come from Pod's CRM and activity context.

Continue the conversation

After AI Agent responds, you can continue in the same thread.

Use follow-ups to:

  • Ask for more detail

  • Change the format

  • Ask AI Agent to explain the evidence

  • Turn the answer into an email draft or next-step plan

  • Continue from the previous response without starting over

Click New agent when you want to clear the current thread and start fresh.

Review history

Use History when you want to reopen a previous AI Agent run.

History is useful when you want to:

  • Return to a previous answer

  • Continue from an earlier run

  • Review what was already asked on the record

Approve actions in the extension

AI Agent can propose actions, such as email drafts, CRM updates, or other tool-driven changes. Pod does not complete those actions until you approve them.

When an action is pending, review the action details and choose whether to approve or reject it.

For the full action workflow, see Manage agent actions.

What opens in the web app

Some setup and management workflows live in the Pod web app rather than inside the Chrome Extension.

Pod opens the web app when you need to:

  • Create or edit Skills

  • Import Skills from the Library

  • Manage Automations

  • Configure settings or connected tools

You can still launch and use saved Skills from the Chrome Extension after they are available in your workspace.

Troubleshooting

If AI Agent does not have the context you expect, make sure Pod has identified the CRM record and that you are on the right Account 360Β° record.

If no Skills appear, your workspace may not have any personal or Org Skills yet. You can still write a prompt directly, or create/import a Skill in the web app.

If the Skill list fails to load, use Retry. If it keeps failing, send us a message.

If you are viewing another teammate's run, it may be read-only. Click New agent to start your own conversation.
